IN ENGLISH: ÚTÓN introduces 'Bransaveislu', first week of November, with Reykjavík Music City, STEF, and Business Iceland

Iceland Music with Reykjavík Music City, STEF and Business iceland proudly present the second annual Bransaveisla (“Industry Celebration”), a program in the week leading up to Iceland Airwaves with event series looking to connect the industry talent coming to Iceland to our local music community and spread the love, and knowledge.

For 2022 Iceland Music has closely collaborated with Sena, the organisers of Iceland Airwaves, and Reykjavík Music City in putting together an ambitious Conference programme for Iceland Airwaves bringing over to Iceland first-class music industry professionals. Our aim is by inviting the international music industry to experience Icelandic music live at home, we also create opportunities for them to share their knowledge with our music community here in Iceland.

Bransaveisla is a series of masterclasses, networking speed-meeting workshops, panels and even the launch of an Icelandic chapter of MMF (music managers forum) which will take place on November 1 and 2 at KEX Hostel and the STEF office. All programming is free for participants, but may require registration.

Panel: Publishers in Iceland

PANEL: PUblishing in Iceland

Music publishing didn’t exist in Iceland a few years ago, and now we have three companies operating within this side of the industry. INNI Music has been going for 4 years, the Iceland Sync management company is building out a publishing arm as part of its services, and by the end of the year, WiseMusicGroup is opening up an office in Iceland.

For that reason, we are inviting the music community here in Iceland together with our international conference guests to a panel discussion where representatives of these three companies describe their work in this growing side of the industry here in Iceland, and what vision they have of this discipline.

We therefore welcome to the panel:
– Colm O'Herlihy, INNI music
– Brynja Guðmundsdóttir, Iceland Sync
– Steven Tallamy, WiseMusicGroup

The panel will be moderated by Christiana Sudano, formerly a Product Manager at Concord US who now runs an independent management company, Do Less Management.

The panel will be at Gym & Tonik at KEX Hostel and is open for everyone.

Music Supervisor Masterclass: Steven Tallamy, founder of WiseMusicGroup in Iceland

This Masterclass tackles the question: “What is music Supervision?” and “What exactly does a Music Supervisor do?” Steve Tallamy will take you through the entire process from script to premiere, including working with score composers, directors, editors, producers, pitching songs, clearing rights etc.

This is not a class about metadata, contract terms or using the DISCO system. It is about building relationships, about listening to creative people describe what they require and trying to translate that into music that fits their needs.

Steven Tallamy has been working in the music industry for 35+ years. Over the past 8 years he has developed a Music Supervision in Denmark. In 2022 Steven grew the Music Supervision team to include a member in Reykjavik and in November Edition Wilhelm Hansen/Wise Music are opening a publishing office in Iceland.
